Masterclass: Ai for Print and Textiles
Learn how to introduce AI into your design process without selling your soul as a designer.
What will I learn?
Despite popular belief, AI does not just do it for you with a click of a button! Great design requires an understanding of design principles and context, such as audience, client preferences, end-use awareness, and production limitations. AI cannot bring originality, vision, or critical thinking. However, it can become a powerful tool in your toolkit. AI tools bring an exciting blend of experimentation and creativity to a design process that can sometimes feel rushed and undervalued. They can save you time while giving your clients more choice and flexibility. In this two-part, live, and interactive masterclass on using AI for print and textile design, you will learn about AI tools and techniques and how to apply them to your own design processes. Gain hands-on experience with practical design exercises and explore AI's creative and efficiency-enhancing potential in textile design. ✨ Part 1 - Interactive demonstrations and exercises designed to get you writing prompts like a pro, experimenting with styles and effects whilst discovering the opportunities for your design process. ✨ Part 2 - Explore further Adobe Firefly and Photoshop techniques for idea generation, iterations of your designs, editing, upscaling and more! 🙋🏻♀️ Questions, discussion, collaboration and new ideas are all greatly welcomed both in the sessions and the dedicated masterclass forum. The forum is there for you to share your work, get help from your tutor and get to know your fellow learners. By booking onto any of our services, you agree to the following guidelines. These are in place to ensure a positive, professional and enjoyable learning experience for everyone involved. Learning requirements: You’ll need the full app version of our training platform Hurdle, which we’ll provide for you. You’ll also need a valid full or trial version of the relevant software(s) for your course; usually either CLO or Adobe for the duration of your learning (please refer to our FAQs for the minimum system requirements for each software). For CLO training, a three-button mouse is essential (please refrain from using Apple Magic Mouse or Wacom tablets). We also recommend having a second screen, such as a monitor or tablet, to view your tutor’s screen more easily. A stable internet connection is also required. Professional conduct: We ask that everyone treat their tutor and fellow learners with respect and professionalism. Please be mindful of how much space you take up in discussions so that everyone has the opportunity to ask questions and take part. Attendance and participation: Please attend all sessions punctually and be ready to learn. If you’re unable to participate, let your tutor know as soon as possible. For group sessions, missing more than two sessions without prior notice or a valid reason may affect your certificate of completion. Our group courses are highly interactive and designed to adapt to the needs of the learners in the room. This means that the pace may vary depending on the number of questions and how much hands-on practice the group needs. We prioritise understanding and confidence over speed, so occasionally, not all advertised topics are fully covered within the live sessions. Each course is carefully designed to ensure you still achieve the intended learning outcomes, even if the session content is adjusted to suit the group. Cancellations and Rescheduling: If you need to cancel a booking, please do so at least one week prior to your session. For tuition sessions, we’re happy to reschedule if you give at least 48 hours’ notice. For group sessions and masterclasses, please note that rescheduling isn’t available once a booking is made. Agreement: By joining our learning sessions, you acknowledge that the live training may adapt based on the group's needs and engagement levels. Our focus is on ensuring every learner feels supported, confident and equipped to apply what they’ve learned.
