What will I learn?
Technical designers and technologists are often caught between creative intent and feasibility, managing fit and construction. This beginner-friendly course gives you the tools to evaluate garments directly in CLO3D, helping you assess fit, validate specs, and communicate technical requirements with clarity before physical samples are made. This pathway is designed for technical designers and garment technologists new to 3D evaluation tools. Whether you're looking to streamline fit, improve communication, or reduce costs, you'll discover how to read and assess 3D garments, identify construction and fit issues, and support product development with visual, data-backed feedback. All sessions are delivered online and recorded for flexible learning. Support is available throughout via our dedicated forum. You'll need a trial or full version of CLO3D to participate. ✨Garment Setup & Technical Assessment ➜ Work with digital patterns and garments, understand how seamlines, grainlines, and avatar measurements interact, and prepare garments for evaluation and simulation. ✨Digital Fit & Balance Analysis ➜ Use CLO3D's fit assessment tools to identify pressure points, strain, and balance issues, compare garment specs against avatar measurements, and evaluate construction logic digitally. ✨Material Simulation & Construction ➜ Apply realistic fabric behaviours and interlinings, place hardware and finishing details, and understand how material properties affect fit and drape in virtual samples. ✨Communication & Production Handoff ➜ Export annotated visuals and measurements for supplier communication, review colourways and style variants from a technical perspective. By the end of this course, you’ll be able to confidently assess virtual samples, annotate fit and construction issues, and support product development teams through clear, visual communication in CLO3D.
