Learn 3D: CLO3D for Accessory Design
Bring accessories to life in 3D - from concept sketches to production-ready prototypes.
What will I learn?
Accessory designers are now expected to visualise products digitally, iterate on form and materials quickly, and present designs with clarity before physical sampling. This beginner-friendly course helps you adapt CLO3D's garment-focused tools for accessory development, with a focus on bags, headwear, and soft accessories, so you can prototype faster, explore construction, and communicate design intent with confidence. This pathway is designed for accessory designers exploring 3D tools for the first time. Whether you're working in bags, headwear, belts, scarves, or other soft accessories, you'll discover how to translate traditional accessory design skills into the digital space. All sessions are delivered online and recorded for flexible learning. Support is available throughout via our dedicated forum. You'll need a trial or full version of CLO3D to participate. ✨Adapting CLO3D for Accessory Design ➜ Navigate the workspace with an accessory lens, understand pattern manipulation for structured and draped forms, and build reusable templates for bags and headwear. ✨Form, Structure & Construction ➜ Create bag silhouettes using panels and seams, add structure and volume to achieve realistic form, explore construction for belts, scarves, and headwear, and work with details like gussets, tabs, and straps. ✨Materials, Hardware & Detailing ➜ Apply different material finishes, visualise hardware; buckles, zips, and closures, layer trims and topstitching, and explore fabric drape. ✨Concept to Presentation ➜ Convert 2D accessory sketches into 3D prototypes, experiment with proportions and styling on avatars, and create turn By the end of this course, you'll be able to prototype accessories in 3D, explore materials and construction digitally, and produce professional visuals that support faster iteration, clearer communication with manufacturers, and more creative exploration in your design process.
