What will I learn?

Learn to create garment flats in this online interactive course. Join us to see how Adobe Illustrator can help you to create accurate technical drawings and turn them into beautiful design flats. High-quality illustrator flats dont just look good, they are also a powerful tool in range building, strategy, sales/approvals and communicating key design and technical detail to suppliers and factories. You will learn all the tools of the trade and crucial steps so you can confidently create your own industry-standard garment designs. Perfect for beginners and anyone who needs a skills refresh. Session 1 – Creating a t-shirt technical drawing Working together with Erica (our fashion specialist!) you will learn the essential steps to drawing perfect flats. ➜ Get over that pen tool fear ➜ Create a T-shirt spec drawing ➜ Add stitch lines If you have previously found Illustrator tricky to get the hang of then please don't fret! We have some top-secret tips that make things like using the pen tool super simple. Session 2 – Take your flats to the next level In this second session, you will learn the easiest ways to: ➜ Add ribbing ➜ Add colour ➜ Add shading Session 3 – Other bits In this third session, we will get on to: ➜ Asymmetric garments ➜ Ruffles and gathers ➜ Buttons and trims Session 4 – Tutor Guidance and Working on Your Own Designs With your new secret weapons at hand, this final session will give you the opportunity to work on your designs whilst making the most of our expert tutor there to help. Erica is there for you if you get stuck or if something isn't behaving the way it should and of course for advice and feedback on your work. ➜➜➜ About our group courses: 🧑‍🎓 Small groups of maximum 6 learners 🙋‍♀️Practical and interactive, so cameras and mics on, and ask as many questions as you like! 🎥 No frantic note-taking here!
